Always wondered this....

How did Steve Summers end up at the helm of the US pretty boy floyd?

I've got the demos from pre-Steve Summers. I think the vocalists name was Areil Stiles ..?

So what happened? why were the vocal duties changed, and how does that entitle SS to basically own PBF these days?

What, if anything, else has Ariel Stiles done?

in a nutshell, The vocalist's name on the demos you have is Kerry Doll. The demos are not from PBF but from the band Doll which featured Ariel Stiles on guitar. after Doll split, Ariel Stiles formed PBF with Steve and took the Doll songs (most of which showed up on LBWET) with him. Stiles quit PBF before they got signed, being replaced by Kristy. After they, PBF, got dropped by MCA Ariel rejoined PBF and recorded demos with Steve singing blah blah blah, it's all in the article. hope this helps.

All true, but there are a lot of PBF demos out there, about twenty songs or so, that Ariel sings on...They were early to mid-90's demos...

I know the answer...Steve came into the picture cuz Kerry Doll sucked!!!
His voice was horrendous...yikes!

hmmmm, very interesting!

I'd heard a bit of the story a while ago, and got interested when i heard some of the tracks turn up on the 'Shameless' albums.

Even with the LBWET re-issue i was looking for referecne to Ariel but couldn't see anything. It does look like he has a pretty good case though.

How long ago was that article written?
